Sarah-Jane Burton is a writer, critic, academic, teacher and media and communications specialist. She writes for the Sydney Review of Books and the Australian Book Review and is currently a Research Fellow at the Australian National University and formerly Harvard University.

She has worked in publishing, editorial and media roles for Pacific Magazines, Australian Consolidated Press, Fairfax Media and NSW Health. 


Her academic appointments have included posts at The University of Wollongong, Macquarie University, Western Sydney University, The University of New South Wales, The Australian National University, Indiana University and Harvard University.

She is currently a trustee and serves on the board of executives for the the University of Wollongong UOW USA Foundation.
